YGO Omega install guide for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS: which file to download, the first launch, Discord authorization, and how to fix a blank online screen.
This YGO Omega install guide covers every platform. To install YGO Omega, open the download page, get the file for your system, run it and let the first update finish. Then press Online and authorize the game in Discord. The game is free and every card is unlocked from the first launch.
Windows, Mac and Android take a few minutes. iOS needs a computer, because the game isn't on the App Store and has to be sideloaded. If you're already installed and just want to play, the Beginner's Guide picks up from your first deck.
Every build is on the download page. It always points at the latest release, which is also published on GitHub.
| Platform | File | Minimum system | Memory |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | Omega_Installer-Windows.exe | Windows 10, DirectX 11 | 2 GB |
| macOS | Omega_Launcher-Mac.dmg | macOS 10.13 | 4 GB |
| Linux | linux-x64.zip | Latest Linux revision | 4 GB |
| Android | android.apk | Android 5.1 | 3 GB |
| iOS | ios.ipa | iOS 12, Apple A10 Fusion | 3 GB |
Every platform needs at least 4 GB of free space, and 6 GB is recommended. On desktop, the minimum graphics are Intel HD Graphics 3000 and the minimum resolution is 1280 x 720. The download page lists the recommended specs.
Omega_Installer-Windows.exe from the download page. The installer is optional, because the Omega Launcher alone can install the whole game. It's still the better choice for most players: it adds the Windows Firewall exceptions, checks for updates and lets you uninstall from the Control Panel.
Omega_Launcher-Mac.dmg from the download page and move the app to Applications. If the game won't start, reset it from Terminal. This assumes it's in Applications:
cd /Applications/YGO\ Omega/YGO\ Omega.app/Contents/MacOS
./YGO\ Omega --reset
Open the game, close it, then open the updater again.
linux-x64.zip from the download page.Discord has to be running for online play, the same as on Windows. For distro-specific problems, ask in the Omega-help channel.
android.apk from the download page on your phone or tablet. If you drop offline during duels, turn off Battery Optimization for the game, or the setting that closes apps in the background. The name changes between phone makers, so search for your model if you can't find it.
YGO Omega isn't on the App Store, so you sideload ios.ipa with a Mac or PC. Try AltStore first, and use Sideloadly if it fails.
ios.ipa.ios.ipa.If a step fails, the AltStore FAQ covers the common errors.
ios.ipa to the computer, not the phone.ios.ipa into Sideloadly. If you land on a blank background or get disconnected, work through the next section.
Try these in order:
If a card behaves wrong, that's a bug rather than an install problem. Confirm it with a judge in the Discord Rulings channel, then follow the steps in Bug Reports.
The defaults work on most machines. If the game runs slowly, change these under Settings > Graphics, starting at the top:
| Setting | Change it to | Why |
|---|---|---|
| GFX | Off | Removes summon and attack effects. Integrated graphics may need this |
| Quality Level | Lower | Reduces anti-aliasing on the field |
| Background | Static | A plain image uses less CPU and RAM than Animated or Rendered |
| FPS Limit | At or below your refresh rate | 30, 60, 90, 120 and 240 are the usual caps |
| Resolution | Your monitor's resolution | Keeps the field sharp |
Two more that matter to new players:
Your images go in the game folder. On Windows it's here:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Duelists Unite\YGO Omega
You can also open it from the game: go to Settings and click the icon at the top right.
| Type | Width x height | Format |
|---|---|---|
| Card sleeves | 271 x 395 px | JPG |
| Playmats | 1485 x 785 px | JPG |
| Backgrounds | 1920 x 1080 px | JPG or PNG |
JPG loads faster and PNG looks better.
Name a sleeve image exactly like the deck it belongs to: the deck Aroma uses the image Aroma. A deck with no match gets a random sleeve. Sleeves only appear while you're connected online, and the turn card button in the deck editor previews them.
Opponents see your sleeves and mat if you're a VIP, so keep them PG-13. The download page explains VIP.
YGO Omega doesn't sync local files on its own. The free personal version of Resilio Sync keeps your decks, sleeves, replays and deck thumbnails the same on every computer. Install it normally, but not as a service.
On your main computer:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow in the address bar and press Enter.Yes. The download is free and every card is unlocked. VIP donations are optional and add cosmetics.
Yes, for online play. The game needs the Discord desktop app running and your authorization the first time you press Online.
No. Duels run in the client you install. The website handles decks, tournaments and rankings.
At least 4 GB of free space, and 6 GB is recommended, on every platform. The first update alone is about 2.9 GB.
Yes. Turn on Open using Rosetta in the app's Get Info window before you open it.
This page updates the YGO Omega Guide by AntiMetaman on the Duelists Unite forum. The forum post also documents every in-game menu, including the deck manager, host options and chat commands.
The app has to be re-signed every 7 days, and it stops opening when that's due. Connect the phone and press Start again. The Sideloadly FAQ covers install errors.
On every other computer:
Apps installed with Sideloadly have to be re-signed every 7 days. Connect the phone, open Sideloadly and press Start again.
Usually the Discord authorization was missed, or a third-party firewall is blocking the game. Close YGO Omega and Discord, open Discord first, then the game, and accept the prompt. If that fails, add a firewall exception.
Not on your own. A reinstall can add new problems, so ask in the Omega-help channel on Discord first.
